There a few ways to collect donations. The easiest way donations can be made is by starting on Donate page.
Here you can browse and search public events, teams, or individuals. Choose the sponsor/donate button and begin the donation process.
If you are a guest, you will need to enter some contact information first, but if you are logged in, you will be taken directly to the donation
If you are looking to support a private event, team, or individual, you will need to get a shareable link from them. They can share this link from their event, team, or profile dashboard via the share button.
The finally way to collect donations is to collect cash or checks for the event and give to the event coordinates in person or via mail. You can record these donations manually under the donation dashboard.
After choosing and event, team, or individual to donate to, you will start the donation/pledging process. If you are a guest and do not have an
account, you will be required to provide an email and optionally you can provide your first and last name. After providing this information, you
will be brought to the donation form. If you are already a user, you can login here or you can register to become a user.
Note that being a registered user allows you to track your donations over time.
Once logged in, registered, or processed as a guest, you will be brought to the donation form. Here you will first enter an amount. The amount must be between one penny and $5,000. Then you will select a pledge frequency: Once, per mile, per hour, or per day. After that selection, you can enter a maximum donation between $1 and $5,000. After entering a maximum donation, you can select a payment type cash, credit, or check. And finally you can enter an optional comment and check the anonymous box if you wish to keep your name hidden.
An example here would be I pledge to donate $1 per mile with a maximum of $1,000 via a credit card payment. If I am pledging to donate to a participant that ends up biking 500 miles, I will owe 500 dollars in the end ($1 x 500 miles). If the the participant bikes 1,500 miles, I will only owe $1,000 dollars in the end, because that was my maximum. Donations are collected at the end of event and you will be notified via email that your donation is ready to be accepted.
If you decided to do a one time donation, you will be directed to a payment method to process your donation immediately.
After your donation has been recorded you will be routed to a thank you page where you can decide to go next. You will also receive an email notifing you of your donation.
On the donation dashboard, after logging in, you can click the record donation button. After clicking record donation, you will be brought to a form where you can enter a name, email, and donation amount. This will store the information for the events reference and your reference for when donations are due.
The donations dashboard shows all donations made to you as individual particpant or donations that you have manually entered. If you are collecting cash donations in person, you can record all of those donations here by clicking record donation.
